ROXANNE
Founder, Creative Director, Media Director
Born in NYC and raised in the tri-state area, Roxanne is the Founder and Executive Director of Potential Magazine, also serving as the Creative and Media Director. She has a passion for art and creativity and wanted to create a platform for all creatives to express themselves and feel inspired, regardless of skill level. Her favorite forms of creativity and expression are fashion, film, photography, music and digital art/graphic design. She loves shopping, watching tv shows and movies, and listening to music. In her free time you could find her browsing on social media, hanging out with friends, visiting New York City, baking, or making collages and videos! Roxanne hopes that Potential Magazine can inspire young creatives around the globe to express themselves in any way, shape, or form they want.
ALEXANDRA
Wellness Writer, Reporter
Born and raised in Southern California, Alexandra is joining Potential Magazine and a reporter as well as a writer for the activism/opinions department and the wellness department. Alexandra possesses a burning passion for mental health advocacy and even started college as a clinical psychology major at UCSD, but they wanted to combine this learned knowledge with the arts. Their favorite mediums of art include poetry, personal essays, music, and fashion. However, they are always exploring new mediums and experimenting in their creativity. Alexandra can be found curating fun Spotify playlists, playing with their guitar and ukulele, dressing up even when there is nowhere to go, or hanging out in twitch chats as a moderator in their free time. Alexandra hopes to educate others about the world and provide a creative safe space to fellow teens and young adults through their work with Potential Magazine!
ALFIYA
Wellness Writer
Alfiya Hussain is a 17 year old senior high schooler who is really passionate about design, STEM, and psychology. She is a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things she likes to do, to see, and to experience. Writing as a profession is a very interesting way of communication. If you ask her, it is the easiest way to learn to express your feelings and especially your thoughts with. Her hobbies include: designing, learning new languages, and traveling! She is the founder of an organization named TIY, dedicated to bridging the gender gap in DESIGN. She has also been a part of many organizations and wishes to learn as much as she can from her experiences and help others along the way. She loves meeting new people and believes in the power of teamwork to create an impact. Apart from that, she loves the color purple and is a huge fan of Korean food. She is also an enthusiast of TV sitcoms and music!
AMBER
Fashion Writer, Graphic Designer
Amber is a fashion writer for Potential Magazine. She loves fashion, art - anything creative really! She is studying textiles in school and is currently quite interested in graphic design. Aside from art, she loves to travel and watch movies (her favorites being the iconic 2000s ones!)
ANNA
Project Manager
Anna is the project manager for the magazine. She currently plays three instruments and draws both traditionally and digitally. She hopes that Potential Magazine allows everyone to reach their full potential and be the best possible version of themselves. She likes sleeping, eating KBBQ, and window shopping.
BASHAER
Beauty Writer
Bashaer Jaberi is a high school student in grade 11. She likes all things fashion, beauty, and writing. She also enjoys traveling, reading, listening to music, and learning new languages. She plans on studying Journalism in college and hopes to pursue a career in fashion journalism afterwards.
JENNI
Media Director
Jenni is the media director for Potential Magazine. She loves all things creative, from typography to fashion. She joined Potential Magazine because she‘s always trying new things and wanted to get inspired by the amazing young creators on the team. In her spare time, you can probably find her spending hours on Pinterest admiring eclectic home decor and curating her NYC themed board, or learning a foreign language.
JOJO
Co-Founder & Partner
Jo Ludington is a beauty and wellness writer for Potential Magazine. She is so excited to be in this community. Jo loves writing plays and drawing large-eyed people. She joined the magazine because she wanted to be part of something special and because of how cool this magazine is. She spends her free time working out, listening to podcasts and contimlating how to grow as a person.
MARIAM
Graphic Designer
Mariam Elias-Danjuma is the graphic designer for Potential Magazine. She is so excited to see Potential Mag reach audiences around the world. She loves fashion, especially watching fashion shows, finding new designers, digitally making her own pieces and making digital art such as edits and graphic designs. She’s always loved reading magazines since she was little, but has always wondered what went on behind the scenes. Ever since she’s started graphic design, she’s always wanted a space where she and others could share their work to the world. Once she found out about Potential Magazine, she knew that this was the place where she could make sure that would happen. In her free time, she enjoys editing, creating new outfits, digitally drawing, writing poems, and reviewing and watching movies and television shows. For Mariam, being able to be a part of the Potential Magazine team has been an all around great experience, collaborating with other editors and making all our voices heard through the mag has been wonderful and she can’t wait to see our magazine grow!
NABEEHA
Co Editor-in-Chief
Nabeeha is a high school junior from Canada who serves as one of the Editor in Chiefs for Potential Magazine. These days, nabeeha usually spends her time studying, but during summer break she likes spending her time at the beach, painting outdoors, listening to music, buying a terrifying amount of stationery for her ever growing collection, and reading! She loves literature and editing so she looks forward to seeing potential grow:)
REILLY
Chief Outreach Manager
Reilly is a journalist from Scotland. She joined Potential Magazine because she thought the magazine looked so beautiful and wanted to be a part of a creative community. She loves to write and occasionally takes up photography. She is a free spirit and loves to go where life takes her, she’s lucky and grateful it took her here!
SAIGE
Outreach Manager
Saige is the outreach manager for Potential Magazine. She joined Potential Mag because she loves exploring different types of art and wanted to expand her creativity outlets. She also hopes to write and join a team that is engaging and excited about the same things as her! She am currently involved in literature and music. In her free time she love to cook and thrifting. She is also obsessed with makeup and fashion, and love mixing and matching different colors. Cyber y2k is currently her favorite aesthetic.
